Nurturing Small Businesses

Negocio Próspero (Prosperous Business) is an introductory business course that provides aspiring business owners and micro-entrepreneurs useful tools and skills to launch, or improve the management and profitability of, their businesses.

Empowered Entrepreneurs is an English version of Negocio Próspero that provides immigrant-origin entrepreneurs with the skills to formalize or improve their businesses.

The classes, taught by experts in their field, focus on topics such as:

  • financial education
  • accounting, taxes
  • licensing permits
  • insurance

  • legal information

In addition to Negocio Prospero and Empowered Entrepreneurs, we also offer individualized technical assistance to micro-entrepreneurs in Davidson County and surrounding areas. Our technical assistance program covers a variety of topics, including assistance with best business practices, business incubation, legal assistance, taxes, licensing, insurance, marketing and more!

“My passion for design began at age 10. I was inspired by my mom who knows a lot of this art. And it was expressed by knitting hats, bags and headbands. Magdalena’s Creations opened four years ago. My life in the USA has been full of ups and downs. l initially moved to New York City where I opened a beauty salon. The business started great and with a lot of success. Unfortunately, I had to close due to legal issues with registration. I need so much assistance regarding paperwork and law. There was no Conexión Américas there for me!” Magdalena Collazo Negocio Próspero graduate and owner of “Magdalena’s Creations”
