Position Overview:
The After-School Classroom Facilitator (Bilingual Spanish/English) will oversee students in daily after-school and summer programs at Harvest Hands. The assigned primary location will be either Harvest Hands Harding or Harvest Hands Whitsitt, with occasional presence at Harvest Hands Napier required (for meetings, etc.). The After-School Classroom Facilitator creates an empowering and safe space for Kindergarten-5th grade students from all walks of life by working alongside the Program Lead to plan and implement holistic daily activities including but not limited to education, healthy living, spiritual formation, and economic development.

This is a part-time, hourly position (20-25 hours/week). After-School Classroom Facilitators are required to work Monday-Friday, approximately 2pm-6pm every day in the fall and spring, with adjusted hours (approximately 8am-3pm) in the summer. Professional development days plus occasional nights and weekends will also be required.

Essential Job Functions
● Participates in initial and ongoing training.
● In collaboration with the Program Lead, plans, prepares, and implements an approved
curriculum covering topics related to the Harvest Hands four pillars (education, healthy
living, spiritual formation, and economic development).
● Oversees a class of elementary-aged children, including building relationships with those
students, implementing lessons, providing homework assistance, etc.
● Upholds all Harvest Hands policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety
protocols and behavior management techniques.
● Organizes and prepares learning materials and classroom environments daily.
● Supports engagement efforts with families, schools, and community-based organizations as necessary.
● Assists with program data collection and reporting as necessary.
● Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
● When necessary, transports students in Harvest Hands vehicle(s) to program-related locations (such as the program site, field trips, etc.).

Required Education, Experience, and Characteristics
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following professional qualifications:
● A strong and clearly observable faith in God and a strong passion and commitment to mission and outreach in an underserved community.
● Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
● Bilingual Spanish/English (advanced fluency required, native fluency preferred).
● Previous experience working with and managing large groups of elementary-aged children (Kindergarten-5th Grade).
● Excellent classroom management skills.
● Working knowledge of Google Workspace, virtual meeting platforms, and other basic computer skills.
● Valid driver’s license.
● Excellent problem-solving skills.
● Strong interpersonal skills.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Maintains credibility through sincerity, honesty, and discretion.
● Builds and maintains positive relationships with internal and external constituents.
● Strong organizational skills.
● Strong time management skills; uses time effectively; consistently meets deadlines.

● Previous experience in a similar role.

Physical Demands
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a
reasonable accommodation.
● Work around small children, including moving about large spaces, ascending/descending stairs, and/or lowering oneself to be on a child’s level.
● Work in a chaotic, sometimes noisy environment.
● Occasionally lift and transport heavy items up to 50 lbs.
● Spend extended periods working on a computer and/or screen to complete administrative
tasks.
