At Conexión Américas, civic engagement is one of our longtime organizational pillars and values. Every year, Conexión Américas attends the General Assembly at Cordell Hull where staff and program participants meet with legislators on topics affecting the Latinx community and all Tennesseans. Knowing who represents you is a vital aspect of our democratic system that transcends nationality or status. It is important to know the people who make decisions on our behalf, ensuring that diverse voices and perspectives are heard. By actively participating in this process, we collectively shape the future, foster transparency and hold our elected leaders accountable, making democracy work for everyone.
VOTING
When we vote, we help to elect leaders who will advocate for our interests and values, and we contribute to the collective direction of our society. By participating in the democratic process, we ensure that our government remains accountable, responsive, and truly representative of the diverse voices that live in our nation.

You can bring a family member, friend, or other person of your choice to assist you at the polls. This person cannot be the voter’s employer, an agent of the voter’s employer, or an agent or officer of the voter’s union.
