On September 23rd, we gathered to celebrate the accomplishments, hopes, dreams, and aspirations of Latinos in Tennessee. Our annual Hispanic Heritage Month Awards Ceremony, this year held both in-person at Azafrán Park and streamed live online, brought together our Orgullo Hispano awardees, our essay contest finalists, and their families.
The event kicked off with live mariachi music from Mariachi Mexico and also featured traditional Mexican dance by Mi Cielito Lindo. After the ceremony our in-person attendees enjoyed pineapple and watermelon agua fresca from Maria’s Snacks, and empanadas from La Cocina de Juanita.
