We are getting ready for the boldest, even if temporary, immigration policy change in 25 years. Our team and our partners at Justice for our Neighbors and Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC) are hard at work making sure we have the resources and communication in place to help many of the estimated 55,000 Tennesseans who are eligible to come out of the shadows.
As soon as President Obama announced his executive action in November, we began holding information sessions in coordination with our partners at Casa Azafrán. We are continuing to offer these sessions at Casa Azafrán for community members to learn what the next steps are and how they can apply for relief. We also communicate in Spanish through our website, social media, email and text message.
As we continue to move forward, we need you to stand with us. We need you to speak out in your community, in your place of worship, and in your homes to support this temporary measure and to continue to advocate for comprehensive immigration reform that recognizes the importance of immigration and the humanity of our immigrant neighbors. We also need you to contribute. Funds will help us guide immigrants through the process of administrative relief and get the word out even more widely in our community.
