In the last few days, many people have emailed, texted or called us saying they want to buy a copy of the beautiful poster we commissioned to local graphic artist Brian Talbott to commemorate last week’s historic visit of President Obama. Others have asked about the striking artwork by Jairo Prado that served as background for the president.

It is great knowing that so many of you, regardless of political affiliation, share our excitement at the honor of hosting a sitting president and bringing national visibility to Conexión Américas, our Casa Azafrán partners and Nashville.

COMMEMORATIVE POSTER

Here’s what we have decided to do:

  • Every supporter who contributed $250 or more during 2014 (before December 9) will receive a complimentary poster in the mail this week.
    It’s our way of saying gracias for your generous support. We know we got to this moment because of you! We hope you will display it proudly.
  • Every donor who sends us a contribution of at least $50 by February 28, 2015 will receive a poster as our thank you.

We sent you our annual giving request just one day before we found out President Obama would be visiting Conexión Américas and Casa Azafrán. In light of this historic event, and in honor of all the nonprofit partners who make Casa Azafrán a national model for immigrant integration, Conexión Américas will allocate your year-end donation to the Casa Azafrán Capital Campaign (instead of the general operating fund of Conexión Américas). Your year-end contribution will support the Casa Azafrán Capital Campaign, which makes possible the affordable and beautiful facility for our nonprofit partners and the gathering place for our community.

HISTORIC ARTWORK

Own a piece of history! We were so proud when the White House staff chose work from our Casa Azafrán Art Gallery by Jairo Prado to set the stage for President Obama’s town-hall meeting. These paintings are available for sale from Prado Studio. Jairo will make a donation to the Casa Azafrán Capital Campaign for all purchases from the Casa Azafrán Art Gallery.
