On November 1, 2019, Conexión Américas hosted a moving “Harvest of Joy” Photo Exhibit and Film Screening. The evening began at 5:30 PM with the opening of the photo exhibit, which showcased the powerful perspectives of children and youth in Conexión Américas’ Migrant Education Program. Through their lenses, they shared aspects of their lives that brought them joy, strength, and happiness. Following the exhibit opening, at 6:00 PM, a discussion took place about the realities of migrant farm work in Tennessee today. The evening culminated at 7:00 PM with a screening of the impactful documentary “Adios Amor: The Search for Maria Moreno,” presented by Nashville Public Television. The film highlighted the forgotten story of Maria Moreno, a migrant mother who became a vital voice for farmworkers.
