Casa Azafrán opens its doors

  • Casa Azafrán was constructed during Conexión Américas’ 10th Anniversary year in 2012.

  • Our casa is home to 8 peer nonprofit resident partners: the American Muslim Advisory Council, Catholic Charities, Casa Azafrán Early Learning Center, Family and Children’s Service, the Global Education Center, Metro Nashville Public Schools, Nashville Hispanic Bar Association, Neighborhood Health, and Tennessee Justice for Our Neighbors.

  • In 2012 Mesa Komal Culinary Incubator was inaugurated. A licensed, affordable commercial kitchen supporting food entrepreneurs found in Casa Azafrán.

President Barack Obama Visits

Caza Azafrán hosted a town hall with President Barack Obama, where he spoke about the importance of immigration policies, and met with immigrants and community leaders.

Our Casa Becomes an Early Voting Center

Casa Azafrán was named the Best Early Voting Site by the Nashville Scene.

2018

 Azafrán Park is Inagurated

The vision for this creative space started with the need for a playground for the Casa Azafrán Early Learning Center pre-k students and quickly became both drawings for a small urban park and the impetus for an innovative public-private partnership.

We celebrate the 10th anniversary of Casa Azafrán

Casa Azafrán is proud for these years of being a welcoming, vibrant place for health services and mental health counseling; adult education and after-school programming for youth; a Pre-K center; legal and financial services; entrepreneurship; leadership development and community organizing; and for the visual, performing and culinary arts.
