If you are at the Nashville International Airport, be sure to stop by our photo and art exhibit, which is prominently displayed at Concourse A, across from Gate 3.
“International Nashville: Captured by the Community” — a photo competition by Conexión Américas and Southwest Airlines — will be hung at the airport until Sept 3 as part of the Arts at the Airport Flying Solo Exhibition Series.
The images were originally submitted during the summer of 2012 by Middle Tennessean who participated in a competition held at Conexión Américas’ Facebook Fan Page. The challenge was to capture all the dimensions of International Nashville.
The images, taken together, captured a reflection of Middle Tennessee’s many faces and facets. The photos celebrated culture, the strength of cross-cultural friendships, the spirit of American entrepreneurship and the rejoicing of freedom and opportunity in a new land.
The photos first hung at Casa Azafrán, the nonprofit collaborative on Nolensville Road, which Conexión Américas opened in December 2012.
We are, as an organization, very proud to offer this opportunity to the photographers who participated in the contest and happy to share with airport travelers a glimpse into a vibrant and beautiful International Nashville.
