Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Nashville is committed to advocating for abused and neglected children in Davidson County Juvenile Court. Our mission is to ensure that every child we serve is safe, has a permanent home, and the opportunity to thrive. We train and support volunteer advocates to speak up for the best interests of these children in the courtroom and community.

Position Overview
We are seeking a bilingual, passionate and experienced CASA Volunteer Advocate Team Leader. This role is responsible for supervising, coaching, and developing CASA Volunteer Advocates position and serves as a liaison to non-English speaking, undocumented, and/or immigrant children and families involved in the foster care system. The role includes providing training and support on cultural competency topics and other issues relevant to working with Hispanic and immigrant communities. You will be a key player in ensuring advocacy efforts are effective, trauma-informed, and culturally competent, while supporting family reunification when possible.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a team of up to 30 Volunteer Advocates, providing coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
Ensure effective advocacy and aligning services with Juvenile Court, funder/grant, National CASA and TN CASA requirements.
Guide Volunteer Advocates in delivering child-centered and family-focused advocacy.
Oversee monthly team meetings, ensuring progress reviews, best practices, and alignment with CASA’s mission.
Assist Volunteer Advocates in connecting families with appropriate community resources and services.
Develop training programs to enhance volunteer skills and compliance with CASA standards.
Represent CASA in court hearings and ensure timely submission of reports when necessary.
Support the intake and referral process, ensuring youth meet qualifications for CASA advocacy.
Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in child welfare and advocacy.
Facilitates and participates in Pre-Service Training for potential CASA Volunteer Advocates as needed.
Assist with compiling information for reporting monthly for all grants and funders.
Engage in at least 12 hours of relevant professional development annually, and attend workshops, trainings, and conferences relevant to CASA.
Reliable transportation required.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, a related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
Experience in juvenile justice, child welfare, or related areas preferred.
Proven supervisory or volunteer management experience.
Experience with trauma-informed practices and cultural competence is highly valued.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
Language Skills: High fluency in Spanish (speaking and writing) with the ability to translate information is required.
